Speaking of nasty surprises, was it your intention to have one of the flowers hanging half out of the frame, and a random blob floating in space off to the left? Did you perhaps consider nudging the camera half a centimeter to the right, maybe actually frame the freaking subject? Maybe it was just too much effort after you'd gone to all the trouble of walking out into your own backyard to find the subject.
